Stop retyping invoices. One WooCommerce order, one valid Factur‑X file.
Your B2B customers and public buyers already ask for electronic invoices — and reject a file that misses a single mandatory field. This plugin turns any order into a checked Factur-X XML from the order screen, on your own server. No platform, no per-invoice fee.
- No network call
- No per-invoice fee
- HPOS compatible
How it works
Three steps, no account to create, no data leaving your server.
- Fill in your seller details onceSIREN, VAT number, legal form, payment terms, late-payment penalties: you enter them once in the WooCommerce settings. The plugin checks them as you save.
- Open an order, clickLine items, shipping, fees, coupons, VAT breakdown and payment data are mapped for you into a Factur-X XML (CII UN/CEFACT D16B, the same syntax as ZUGFeRD 2.x).
- Check it, then send it your way30+ EN 16931 business rules and the French mandatory mentions are verified before you download the file. Every error is explained in plain language, with the rule that failed.
What the plugin does
A generator and a checker, not a platform. It does not replace your accounting: it saves you the retyping and the rejected invoices.
One click, one valid file
Straight from the order screen. Factur-X BASIC profile in the free plugin, EN 16931 profile with the Pro add-on. No intermediate export, no copy-paste.
Checked before you send
BR-02 to BR-25, BR-CO-10/13/15/16/17, VAT category rules, plus the French mandatory mentions: SIREN with checksum, VAT number key, due date, penalties, the €40 recovery indemnity. Not an XSD stack trace: one clear sentence.
100% local, no network call
The free plugin contacts nothing: no analytics, no remote validation, no invoice transmission. No data processor to add to your privacy policy.
It fits the plugins you already run
If PDF Invoices & Packing Slips already numbered the order, the same number is reused — one sale, one invoice number. Works with HPOS and with legacy order storage.
VAT as it really happens
French small-business exemption (art. 293 B CGI), intra-EU B2B reverse charge, exports outside the EU, zero-rated lines: each case gets the right EN 16931 VAT category and the matching legal wording.
You stay in control of sending
Nothing is transmitted to a PDP, to Peppol or to Chorus Pro. You download the file and send it the way you already do: email, portal upload, or your accountant. That is what keeps the running cost at zero.
Free, and Pro when you need it
The free plugin stays whole and free. Pro is a separate add-on, a second plugin you install alongside it: it is for shops issuing dozens of invoices a month and handing them to an accountant.

Frequently asked questions
Does this make me compliant with the 1 September 2026 deadline?
The 2026 date is about receiving electronic invoices — that already applies to every French business. Issuing them becomes mandatory for small businesses on 1 September 2027. This plugin is about issuing: it lets you produce compliant files today, for the customers who already ask for them, and be ready well before 2027. It does not turn your shop into a certified platform (PDP).
Does it send my invoices to Chorus Pro or to a PDP?
No, deliberately. It generates and validates the file; you send it through the channel you already use. No account to open, no per-invoice fee, no third party in the middle of your invoicing.
Do I get an XML or a PDF?
This version produces the Factur-X XML file (CII UN/CEFACT D16B). That is what Chorus Pro and most supplier portals ask for. PDF/A-3 with the XML embedded is not included in this version: keep attaching your usual PDF alongside the XML.
Do I need a PDF invoice plugin?
No. If you already use PDF Invoices & Packing Slips, its invoice number is reused so both documents match. If you do not, the plugin uses the order number with your own prefix.
Which Factur-X profile does it generate?
BASIC in the free plugin, EN 16931 with the Pro add-on. The XML is CII UN/CEFACT D16B — the same syntax as ZUGFeRD 2.x, so German customers accept it too. No certification has been passed: we follow the specification, we do not sell a label.
How does the Pro version work?
Pro is not a feature locked inside the free plugin: it is a second plugin, delivered as a ZIP file after purchase, that you install alongside. You paste your licence key once; it is checked against Gumroad, then the add-on works offline. One key covers 3 sites for one year.
What happens when my Pro subscription ends?
Nothing breaks. The add-on stops adding its features and the free plugin carries on alone: you still generate BASIC invoices, you lose batch, the EN 16931 profile and the accounting export. The files you already produced stay yours.
Does any invoicing data leave my server?
No. The free plugin makes no network request of any kind. Every file is built and checked on your own server: nothing about your orders, your customers or your revenue leaves it. The Pro add-on only calls the Gumroad licence API when you submit a key, and sends only that key and your site domain.
How do I install the ZIP file?
In your WordPress admin: Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, pick factur-x-for-woocommerce-1.0.0.zip, install and activate. Settings are then under WooCommerce → Settings → Factur-X. The file is the same plugin submitted to WordPress.org; automatic updates start as soon as it is published there.
